UcanACT Massive Open Online Course
Since the beginning of 2023, the UcanACT consortium has worked on a number of core deliverables that will be implemented within the implementation phase of the project. They are all designed to meet the project's overall objective, aiming at engaging adults and senior citizens to practice physical activity as a tool for cancer prevention within public urban green spaces. The UcanACT Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is the third core deliverable to have been published to date and to be accessible.
The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is a central component of the UcanACT project designed to provide comprehensive training for physiotherapists in charge of delivering the Pilot cancer-preventive physical activity (CPPA) actions.
Based on the Practical Intervention Methodology, the UcanACT MOOC aims to ensure its quality by equipping physiotherapists with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver cancer-preventive physical activity effectively to adults and senior citizens over the age of 50 who never have suffered from cancer diseases (primary prevention), who were diagnosed with cancer (secondary prevention) or who are cancer survivors (tertiary prevention).
The MOOC intends to guarantee that physiotherapists can conduct the Pilot actions with confidence and competence, aligning with the project's primary aim of engaging adults and senior citizens in practicing physical activity as a tool for cancer prevention within public urban green spaces. To meet these objectives, course materials, video presentations, readings and online quizzes are available for an enhanced learning experience.
The UcanACT MOOC is accessible on the project website and is open to every physiotherapist, free of charge. Participants will be required to complete a 40-question exam, achieving at least a 70% score to successfully finish the course and receive the UcanACT badge and certificate for completing the MOOC.
Do not hesitate to complete this online course if you are eager to improve your knowledge and skills on providing cancer-preventive physiotherapy practice!
